Vegetable Oil is an ingredient that is used for a few recipes. It was added in Version 1.2 (The Thirst Quencher Update).
The item is, surprisingly, technically edible and is thus required for both the "Drinkoholic" and "The Gourmand" advancement.

Usage
If consumed, Vegetable Oil has a 50% chance to inflict the player with Nausea 1 for 15 seconds, and a 30% chance to inflict the player with Poison 1 for 15 seconds. It is recommended that you do not drink this for fun.
[!WARNING] Minecraft Steve (also known as John Minecraft) is notorious for being able to perform inhumane stunts, such as surviving 22m (72ft) falls without anything to break his fall, carrying several thousand pounds of pure Gold Blocks without slowing down whatsoever, and being able to consume entire meals of Cooked Chicken and 192 Karat Golden Apples. In Reg's More Foods, Steve can consume an entire bottle of Vegetable Oil with minimal injury--but please do not try this at home! Drinking an entire 500ml bottle of Olive Oil/Vegetable Oil in real life will kill you!
