Software and app

The software is still being built. This page describes the plan.

Firmware

The firmware on the main board will:

• run tests on a schedule you choose;
• read the probes continuously;
• guide calibration of the pump, the photometer and each probe;
• check itself at start-up and report faults clearly;
• update over Wi-Fi, and fall back to the previous version if an update fails.

The ReefMetrics app

One app for the ReefMetrics ecosystem, planned for iOS, Android and the web:

• current readings and history for all ten parameters;
• alerts when a reading leaves the range you set;
• test schedules;
• calibration walkthroughs;
• lighting controls;
• reagent levels.

Setup

Planned: the app finds a new Wavie over Bluetooth and hands it your Wi-Fi details. After that, Wavie talks to the app over the internet.
