Reagents

Reagent formulation for Wavie has started and is in development. It is the largest piece of work still ahead.

The plan

• Six reagents cover five parameters: alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, nitrate and phosphate. Calcium and magnesium share a single hardness measurement.
• The chemistry is being developed for Wavie's own photometer and its three wavelengths.
• The Beta Kit ships with six reagent bottles. They sit beside Wavie in a tray; the tray design is not final.

Where reagents come from

Reagents are made and sold only by ReefMetrics. The formulations are not published. Reagent sales are what pay for keeping Wavie, the app and its updates running, which is why this is the one part of the project that is not open.
