Why Can't I See My Coins?

Problem: You can see your transaction in the blockchain explorer (website), but your coins aren't showing up in your ReddCoin Core Wallet.

Cause: Your wallet might be on an incorrect "chain." Think of this like your wallet accidentally following the wrong set of directions. Recently, ReddCoin experienced two "forks" (splits in the network), and your wallet might have followed the wrong path.

How to Fix This Problem

Don't worry! This guide will help you get your wallet back on the right path so you can see your coins again. We'll check if your wallet is on the wrong path, and if it is, we'll give it the correct directions.

Step 1: Open the Console in Your ReddCoin Core Wallet

1. Open your ReddCoin Core Wallet
2. Click on "Help" in the top menu
3. Select "Debug Window"
4. Click on the "Console" tab

Step 2: Check if You're on the First Wrong Path

1. In the console, type exactly this and press Enter:

   getblockhash 5448005
   

2. Look at the result:

   • If you see: 99e1ba495f4da89c2a0c8a0296cb1df69d5a76488c06517a5aee5c0000c496da

     • Good news! You're on the correct path for this check.

   • If you see: 809a59a737c3479ac17ad0fd426193596cc02cfb82cd1c87fa05ef94f8f8587a

     • You're on the wrong path. Let's fix it!
     • Type exactly this and press Enter:

       invalidateblock 809a59a737c3479ac17ad0fd426193596cc02cfb82cd1c87fa05ef94f8f8587a
       

     • Your wallet will now start reconnecting to the network.

Step 3: Check if You're on the Second Wrong Path

1. In the console, type exactly this and press Enter:

   getblockhash 5519068
   

2. Look at the result:

   • If you see: 1d6ebb2d73dccc03b7b9b013c3b08ec8a83919ed4480edbad6e0604be53f5b40

     • Good news! You're on the correct path.

   • If you see: 420d82c48eea24cd9a06b24cc012bb89abdcab95bdbc29ef02d9fd55ef41f570

     • You're on the wrong path. Let's fix it!
     • Type exactly this and press Enter:

       invalidateblock 420d82c48eea24cd9a06b24cc012bb89abdcab95bdbc29ef02d9fd55ef41f570
       

     • Your wallet will now start reconnecting to the network.

Important note: If you found yourself on the first wrong path, after fixing it, your wallet might end up on the second wrong path. Please always check both paths to make sure your wallet is completely on the right track.

Step 4: Let Your Wallet Sync and Verify

1. After running these checks, your wallet needs time to sync with the network. This might take a while, so please be patient.

2. Once it's done syncing, you need to verify you're fully back on track:

   To check your wallet's block height (current position):

   • Either hover your mouse over the icon in the bottom right corner of your wallet
   • Or type getblockchaininfo in the console

3. Compare this number with the official block height at the ReddCoin blockchain explorer: https://blockbook.reddcoin.com/

4. The numbers should match. If they do, your wallet is now on the correct path, and your coins should be visible!
