Module Configuration - rbtylee/launcher-spellchecker GitHub Wiki

  1. Spell Checker Settings
  2. Quick Launcher Settings

The Spell Checker module has two different configurations. The first allows one to set which app to use as the dictionary, either aspell or hunspell and further allows one to change the language the dictionary is using. The second is a configuration of the Quick Launcher itself. The latter includes enabling or disabling the Spell Checker, changing the trigger string which executes the spell checker and more.

Spell Checker Settings

To change the Spell Checker module settings, open the main menu and go to Settings ➝ Settings Panel. When the Settings dialog opens navigate to Launcher. As shown below:

Click Launcher Plugin: Spell Checker and the Spell Checker Settings dialog should open as pictured below:

As you can see above one can change language dictionaries, as well as choose the dictionary app, aspell or hunspell. Pretty straightforward.

Quick Launcher Settings

To change how the settings Quick Launcher itself stores for Spell Checker, once again open the main menu( Settings ➝ Settings Panel.) When the Settings dialog opens, as before, navigate to Launcher. As shown below:

This time select Everything Configuration and the Everything Settings dialog should open displaying the General Settings as pictured below:

We are hunting for the Spell Checker plugin settings so after inspecting the General Settings to ensure they are to our satisfaction select the Plugins Tab. This tab lets us change the settings for all install Quick Launcher plugins. Now scroll down the list of available plugins until you find and select Spell Checker. We can now see Quick Launchers configuration for the Spell Checker plugin, shown below:

The most noteworthy setting is the Plugin Trigger string, shown as '_s _'. Recall our previous discussion of trigger string in Usage. Here you can change it whatever you wish. Originally, the enlightenment developers coded this module to use 'aspell ' as a trigger by default.

The function of the rest of the options should be clear, if not play around with changing them to see what happens. Some options like the Plugin View really don't apply. These options only apply to plugins that are capable of displaying Icons and this is hardly even applicable to text like spelling suggestions.
