Welcome to the launcher-spellchecker wiki!
The Spell Checker Module is a plugin for Moksha's Quick Launcher. This plugin extends the functionality of the Quick Launcher to check the spelling of words. It uses either aspell or hunspell as a backend and supports multiple languages. Considering Bodhi Linux is the only distro using the Moksha window manager, this wiki is intended primarily for Bodhi Linux users.
The Spell Checker Module itself is simple enough to install and use, at least for those familiar with Moksha and its e17 roots. But as Bodhi gains in popularity we attract more and more users completely unfamiliar with the enlightenment interface. This guide is for them and to provide a reference for users seeking help on our forums or elsewhere.
Perhaps, it is unknown to many current Bodhi users but Moksha's Quick Launcher module supports plugins. It is, in reality, the Enlightenment Run Everything module just renamed for Bodhi. According to legend:
When the Enlightenment (E17) developers hatched the Run Everything Module, they tried to find a name to describe what it does. All they could think of was Everything.
This is very appropriate because there is little it can not do with the right plugin. In a very small nutshell, Moksha's Quick Launch Module allows access to a fully-indexed database of all the applications and files on your PC, with additional functionality provided by plugins. The Spell Checker Module is one such plugin and in fact, is the old everything-aspell module resurrected and "Bodhized". Sadly many of the plugins that used to exist for the Everything Module are no longer maintained. For more on this see the History Page of this wiki.
