SpeedFan Configuration - raiguard/ModernGadgets GitHub Wiki
SpeedFan is a popular tool for monitoring and controlling system fan speeds. Incidentally, it can also be used to monitor your CPU temperature and fan speed. However, you do need to configure some values for it to work correctly.
First, open the SpeedFan application, and click on the Configure
button. This will open a window showing all of the sensor readings that SpeedFan has access to. By default, it will open to the Temperatures
tab.
Somewhere on the list of temperatures, you will find Core temperature entries. You need to find the index of the Core 0
temperature reading, starting from 0. For example, on my system, Core 0
is at index 10 on the list (11th from the top).
Once you have found this number, enter it into the Core Temperatures
option of the SpeedFan configuration section in the CPU Meter settings skin, and hit enter. Now switch to the Fans
tab, and do the same for the CPU Fan reading. Once you have done this, go ahead and close the configure window and minimize SpeedFan, and you should be good to go!
