Q: I am trying to free up space on our Turbo storage but for some reason, deleting folders does not change the available space (currently 0%) on the account.
A: When you delete data, the space is generally not freed until after a week due to
snapshots. The exception is if files are added and removed before the
daily snapshot job runs. We can delete them upon request, but the
operation will take some time to complete once initiated. We can also
shorten the policy (e.g. retain 3 daily snapshots
instead of 7) or remove the option from the volume.
Q: I need access to /nfs/help_me/oh_no/ on on Great Lakes but when I try to enter the directory, I receive a "no such file or directory" error.
A: If the storage volume is hosted outside of ARC-TS, the admin may need to update their nfs exports to include the Great Lakes IP ranges. (internal: IP ranges can be found on this spreadsheet, for Great Lakes you need all "Production" ranges except for "Mgmt" https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WZVp5vEwwQXONv71jve3rIXjhbkRKUF7c8cTqJfWZic/edit?usp=sharing)
