creating desktops in teamdynamix - raeker/ARC-Wiki-Test GitHub Wiki
Accessing tickets through TDx will happen through a Desktop. These are landing spots to show whatever view you want. There is a default desktop on the 'Desktop' tab called 'ITS Technician`. For all intents and purposes what is shown is mostly irrelevant to ARC-TS's needs. You can create your own desktop by following these steps:
1) On the main desktop page click '+ Desktop'
2) Choose a name for your new desktop and click on the 'Save' button
3) The next page is where you can edit the appearance and content of your new desktop. If you click 'Edit Layout' it will take you to a page that shows various layout schemes of different design and number of columns. The content that you add to your desktop will then be shown in this arrangement.
4) After you've chosen your layout you can then fill the desktop with content. The three main sections you'll want to pull content from are 'ITS Tickets', 'My Work', and 'Tickets'. These are where you can choose report widgets to add to your desktop.
5) In the 'ITS Tickets' section there are reports with the labels 'ARCTS-XXX', where the X's are various internal or unit support groups. Depending on what you want to monitor you can select whichever you like.
6) Once you've chosen what you want to view click the 'Save' button.
7) To access your new desktop, navigate back to the main page (if you're in full screen close the tab that opened during the desktop creation or close the pop up that was created). In the upper left hand corner of the page you will see a little box that says 'ITS Technician' which should now have a dropdown arrow on it. Click the arrow, select your new desktop and the page will automatically refresh to the new desktop.
8) To make this your default desktop, click the gear symbol next to the dropdown box for the desktops. You will now see a list of the desktops that you have. Over on the right there will be a column labeled 'Default'. Click 'Set' for whichever desktop you want to show by default.
9) When you're finished, click on the arrow next to 'Manage Desktops' to take yourself back to your main desktop
The ITS Tickets tab is a secondary place to create a customized desktop to view various ticket reports. There is a default ITS Tickets desktop that you can customize to fit your needs.
1) Click the 'Edit ITS Tickets Desktop' button on the top of the page.
2) A new tab (if in fullscreen) or a new window will pop open.
3) The process of creating a new desktop for ITS Tickets follows the same process as creating your main desktop as outlined in the previous section, however the selection of reports to add is more limited.
4) You can edit the layout of the desktop to find one that suits your needs by clicking on 'Edit Layout'.
5) Once you've chosen the layout for your desktop just drag and drop the reports you want to see into each column.
6) Click 'Save' when done and navigate back to the main ITS Tickets tab. Click on `Desktop` to see your newly created desktop with the reports you choose.
1) In the box of boxes, choose ITS Tickets

2) Once in ITS Tickets, choose '+Report', and the 'Report'
3) A new menu will pop up asking you what type of report you would like to make. Choose 'Ticket Report'
4) You will then be taken to a page where you can select all of the options you would like for your report.
5) As an example, I have a report for my own tickets that shows me the following

If you wish to emulate this view here are the settings in the report

You can see in the screenshot above the columns I want, the filtering I do (I've chosen everything under 'Status' except resolved, closed, and cancelled), and the sort order.
6) Once you selected all of your setting for the report you want to create you can also choose a folder to put it in. If you leave that option blank the default will be ITS Tickets.
7) Once you have this report set up to you click on either the 'Save' button.
8)You can now add this report to any desktop you wish.
