Permissions

Pester your supervisor until you get access to these resources:

  • ARC-TS VPN
  • mandarin.dsc.umich.edu
  • all the HPC admin nodes
  • sudo privileges on admin nodes
  • kibana.arc-ts.umich.edu
  • dashboard.arc-ts.umich.edu
  • admin access on https://srs.it.umich.edu{.external-link}
  • Get added to appropriate groups in TeamDynamix
  • ownership of hpc notification groups on MCommunity
  • any useful google docs/sheets that are floating around

Training

You can't start online training until you are assigned online training courses, so you may have to pester your supervisor again.
Training that must be done for ARC-TS HPC help desk includes:

  • Access and Compliance
  • HIPAA and PHI
  • Export Control

Wolverine Access

Nearly all of your employee information is located at wolverineaccess.umich.edu
Direct deposit, W4, and W2 are at Faculty and Staff > Employee Self-Service > Payroll and Compensation\ Emergency contact info is at > Faculty and Staff > Employee Self-Service > Campus Personal Information

Time Reporting

  1. Go to wolverineaccess.umich.edu > Faculty and Staff > Employee Self-Service > Time Reporting
  2. Fill in the cells under each day with the number of hours you worked rounded to half hours.
  3. Set "Time Reporting Code" to Regular, Sick - Illness/Injury, Vacation, or whatever code is appropriate. 
  4. Click "Submit".

If you forgot to fill out your timesheet for a previous pay period alert your manager asap. Follow the same steps as you would for regular submission except click "Previous Period", fill out the information and submit for approval.

Benefits

If you are a Temporary employee the only benefits you are eligible for would be a 403(b) retirement account and sick time accrual. Information about the 403(b) accounts can be found here{.external-link} and speak to HR about sick time.
