Diffraction by an aperture
The example demonstrates a virtual experiment of diffraction of a Gaussian beam (red laser, 635 nm) by a rectangular aperture of 1 by 1 mm. The aperture is located at 0.5 m from the source. There are three watch points, so we could observe the following intensities:
- intensity at the aperture (W1);
- intensity in the near field at 20 mm from the aperture (W2) with the Fresnel number F=78.7 for default parameters;
- intensity in the far field at 3.5 m from the aperture (W3) with the Fresnel number F=0.45 for default parameters.
