Sprint 3 Review - rabeeb909/WorldClassPrototypes GitHub Wiki
Sprint Report 3: Prepared by: Casey VanHoof, Rabeeb Anwar and Jordan Zomberlei.
Intended Progress: The intended progress for this sprint was get the file upload working correctly, along with the backend submitting the form correctly and everything working on the backend. There was a couple design problems that we had to get taken care of as well, like adding another google maps location on the contact page because they have two different locations. Another task we wanted to get done was making a CMS system for the customer to be able to edit text and pictures easily. We found out that it is nearly impossible to create a CMS system without a database so we improvised and made a CMS system that is only text editable but if very user friendly. The CMS system allows the owner to access a page and be able to edit the text easily and make the changes quickly. The last task we wanted to complete was the go-live. The owner didn’t want to go live because he didn’t have all the text and pictures he wanted to go live so we decided we still would just under a random domain so there is no relation to his company.
Progress Reflection: For sprint 3 I thought we made very good progress. We completed every single task that we set of for in sprint 3 and finished it which is awesome. We now have a great looking website for our customer and that submits the contact us page and the order form page easily to an email that is formatted in an easy way. The overall progress of this website was great. We did get off to a slower start than originally planned but we have made a lot of progress in the last 2 sprints and I think that has shown in the sprint reviews and how we have achieved basically every goal we had planned to achieve.
Problems Encountered: The team didn’t encounter too many issues again this sprint, the biggest issue was getting the files to upload properly and just testing the backend to make sure that everything was working correctly every single submission.
Project Progress: The progress is pretty great. We have finished basically everything we set out to do for this project, with some issues along the way that we managed to fix and make great! The owner didn’t want to manage and update a database so we just sent the order information to a Gmail where he would get it in email form and in a Google Sheets format so all the orders ever made will be in that spreadsheet which will be nice to track all the orders easier than email. And that made it tough to have a working CMS system with no database to store the username and password but we worked around it and made our own version of a CMS where the owner can easily edit, change or remove text easily and quickly. On top of all the backend work we have made this website look a million times better on the front end. We clickable pictures to making more detailed pages about what each type of process does, it will be a lot easier for potential customers to understand what exactly they do and obviously a lot easier to order and get quotes.
Update of Burndown chart on GitHub.
Conclusion: Overall, we believe we did good for our third sprint as a team. We communicated by texting or email and met up with each other to help each other out and decide what to do. We went live, finished the CMS to the best of our ability and what resources we had and the front end is completely finished. Overall, great project and we made a lot of progress and learned a lot along the way.
