Work creation and upload

Test uploading 4 images or different files:

  • Login using the Log In button at the top right of the page

    • should be redirected to your dashboard

  • Click the ‘Create Work’ at the top left of the page

    • should be under ‘My Dashboard’ heading with an icon

  • Fill in required descriptions (Title, Creator, Keywords, Rights, Abstract or Summary, and Resource Type)

    • Check that the rights section does not have a default license
    • Check that the creator is set to your name (Given Name, Last Name, Display Name format)

  • Click on Show additional Fields

    • should see 9 additional fields(10 fields if an admin)
    • Subject, Language and Based Near should show auto completes

  • Click on the ‘Files’ tab

  • Click ‘Add Files’ and navigate to the files to be uploaded

    • choose a few files of different formats (images, PDFs, word docs, binaries)
    • click the ‘Upload all local files’ button
    • you should see the files being uploaded

  • Choose the visibility of the Work you are uploading in the right hand widget

    • private and Penn State files should not be visible when you are in an incognito window (not logged in)

  • Choose Collaborators from the tab of the same name

    • you should see a list of the UMGs you belong to in the dropdown under "Share work with groups of users"
    • select a group, choose level of access, and click the "Add Group" button
      • you should see the group added to the table of permissions
    • find a user, choose level of access, and click the "Add User" button
      • you should see the user added to the table of permissions
      • you should be able to auto complete on user id or user name (first or last)

  • Agree to the ScholarSphere’s Deposit Agreement

  • Click on "Save" button

    • you should see the saving progress bar and be redirected to 'Work Show Page' screen
    • you should see the message "Uploading in progress" under Items
    • you should also see your work under "My Works" OR "Shared with Me" if uploaded on behalf of someone else
    • you should also see your work in the "Recent Additions" on the home page

Testing Works

  • Work show up in the ‘Recent Additions’ list
  • Global search
    • However, only finds files if a full name is used. Does not search partial entries
  • My Works search
    • However, only finds works if a full name is used. Does not search partial entries
