Play‐around Technique - prworigami/kusudama GitHub Wiki
I am not sure how I can design new unit,
so let's see some knowledge that I use to play around.
45 degree system
It is simply how we fold a square in diagonal.
I believe it is similar to the term "22.5 degree",
but it is easier to remember that it is a half of 90 degree.
4x4 Grid
Sonobe Unit is in 4x4 squares, so let's use it as a starter.
Symmetry
Since each unit should have a balance pair of flap and pocket,
we can simple fold the same crease when rotating 180 degree.
Divide into 3 equal parts
There are many ways to do it, so let use the way that you prefer.
Waterbomb Base and others
Use any basic technique in origami that we learn as a kid.
You may need to have some experience in folding traditional origami
such as bird, box, rose, etc.
- sink
- square twist
- accordion
- pleat
- squash
- reverse
60 degree system
I want to remember it as I am creating an equilateral triangle.
The crease of 60 degree system is made from aligning
the left point to the middle crease while the right point is fixed.
It may be the same as the term "15 degree".
Any paper alignment
- point to point
- edge to edge
- point to edge
- edge to point
- perpendicular
- parallel
- crease from point to point
