These instructions are for Cypress v3 which is not the latest version of Cypress. For Cypress v4, please see our updated instructions.

An instance of The Cypress v3 application can be started using either an Amazon Machine Image (AMI), a virtual machine (VM), Chef, or a custom install from source code. The AMI and VM methods will allow you to easily start up an instance of the Cypress application, and are recommended for most users. Detailed instructions for all four methods are listed below:

You will need an NLM VSAC account to download value set definitions and finalize the installation. You can sign up for an NLM VSAC account at https://uts.nlm.nih.gov/home.html. Click the Sign Up link in the upper right of the page.

Once you have installed the Cypress application, you will need to install the bundle and setup your application.
