Bicycle Trekking profiles - poutnikl/Brouter-profiles GitHub Wiki

  • If you are familiar with the wiki info, you may jump to Getting profiles page, eventually also Choosing-bicycle-profile.

  • The profiles are primarily intended for bike trekking, but some are , or can be tuned toward the road or MTB usage. The basis for profiles is the Trekking-Poutnik template. It has many modifications wrt standard Trekking profile, like more distinguishing for cycleroutes, tunability, finer track evaluation, evaluation of OSM tags Smoothness and MTB scale for combined Roughness track penalties. It also implement priority shifts due weather, addresses climbing/down-riding specifics and some other enhancements.

  • Trekking-Dry is my default trekking bike profile, being identical to default configuration of the template.

  • Trekking Wet is modification of the above. It is applicable during wet conditions and have set ON the flag parameter iswet. It somewhat shifts OSM way priorities toward paved roads, but distinguishes weather effect on different surfaces. As there was recently some confusion about used iswet flag, see the Iswet flag page.

  • Trekking MTBs profiles are tuned toward more MTB-like user experience by MTB_factor usage.

    • Trekking MTB light
    • Trekking MTB medium
    • Trekking MTB strong
    • Trekking-Fast
  • MTB AND MTB-light profiles were developed with cooperation with a MTBikers, involving MTB_factor-and-smallpaved_factor, promoting more the small paved roads and tracks. See also Trekking-MTB-Profiles---legend.

  • NEW - Then MTBiker and profile author @zossebart created his own dedicatedMTB profile GitHub repository, that I recommend for the true MTBikers, instead of my profile tweaks.
