Problems Encountered and Future Improvements - popege/ECE387_Individual_Final GitHub Wiki
One of the first problems that I came across while testing the device was the wiring scheme. Because the user would use headphones and the force sensitive resistor would be under the foot, a wire must be ran from the device mounted on the arm to the foot, which would become irritating to the user. A possible future improvement would be to use some other method to count steps taken, such as an accelerometer or a pedometer sensor module like the CJMCU-231.
Another area of concern is the weight/bulk of the device. Because the user would be running while wearing the device, the device should be able to cope with various movement while maintaining rigidity, as well as not having wires fall out of place. A future improvement that could be implemented would be a shield or casing for the device, as well as an arm strap that could be easily wrapped around the arm to avoid wiring issues and make a more pleasant experience for the user.
