Adding .wav Files (Music) - popege/ECE387_Individual_Final GitHub Wiki

The SmartWAV audio processor can play .wav files of music. You can follow these steps in order to play the music on your device.

1.) Gather your music files (most likely .mp3)

2.) Find the tempo. This website is a good way to determine the tempo of the most popular running songs, or you can search for your own songs.

3.) Convert your songs to .wav files. Website like this one are convenient for converting songs to .wav in a quick manner. It can also be done through iTunes. In order for your songs to play, they must be in .wav format, and the audio channel type must be mono with a sample rate of 16kHz and 8 bits per sample.

4.) Create folders on your micro SD card for storing the songs. For my project, I created 5 folders: 120bpm, 130bpm, 140bpm, 150bpm, and 160bpm. If you would like to add more tempo folders, you would need to change the code a little bit, but it wouldn't be too difficult.

5.) Add the songs with specific tempos to their respective folders. If you would like to change the order in which you hear the songs during your workout you can shuffle their order by changing their location within the folders.

6.) Mount the micro SD card onto your SmartWAV processor and you're ready to go.
