The terms in plain words - poli0981/frameledger GitHub Wiki

This page sums up the documents FrameLedger shows you. It is a summary, not the terms: the documents themselves are the terms, and where this page and a document differ, the document is right. They are all under Help ▸ About ▸ Legal documents.

End User License Agreement — you accept it

  • FrameLedger is free software under the GNU GPL v3 (below), and nothing in the agreement takes any of that away.
  • It records performance data on your PC.
  • It hooks a game only if you switch that on for that game, after a warning. If anti-cheat bans your account for it, that risk is yours, and the developer cannot undo a ban.
  • It is beta software, provided without warranty, and the developer is not liable for damage it causes — as far as the law allows. Rights the law gives you as a consumer, which no agreement can take away, stay yours.
  • Read it: EULA.

Disclaimer — you accept it

How FrameLedger measures, why that can be detected by anti-cheat, what its safety checks can and cannot catch, how accurate its measurements are, that your PC must meet each game's own requirements, and what Run the agent as administrator changes. Read it: Disclaimer.

Privacy Policy — you accept it

Everything stays on your PC: no account, no telemetry, no analytics. The only network requests are the update check and the update download, to GitHub, and the check can be switched off. It lists what FrameLedger can observe, and says that sharing an export or a bug report is your decision. Read it: Privacy Policy.

GNU General Public License v3 — your licence, shown for information

It gives you the right to use, study, share and change FrameLedger. You do not have to accept it to use the program. If you give copies to others — changed or not — you must pass on the same freedoms and offer the source code. Read it: GPL v3.

NOTICE — the copyright line and three extra terms

The copyright line, and three terms of the kinds the GPL's section 7 allows: keep the copyright line and the attribution; a changed version must say it is changed and must not be called just "FrameLedger"; and the terms give no rights to the FrameLedger name or logo. Read it: NOTICE.

When the documents change

A new version of a document you accepted is shown to you again before FrameLedger continues.
