Click the 00 STA130 Course Wiki-Textbook link in the vertical accordion menu on the right to see the contents of the STA130 course wiki-textbook. The other links take you to "chapters" or "entries" of course material for each specific week of the course.

To get an STA130 Custom NBLM ChatBot (which allows you to interact to interact with a ChatBot that wants to answer ALL your questions as if they could be answered based on the STA130 wiki-textbook, TUT, LEC, and HW materials) download the MarkDown conversions of course documents stored at https://github.com/pointOfive/chat130 and upload them as markdown files (adding new files each week) into a notebook on https://notebooklm.google/.

  • This requires a google account, but you can connect your UofT email to a google account as described here if you prefer
  • The most recent update of the files https://github.com/pointOfive/chat130 occurred on 11:44 AM ET on Sunday, November 17th 2024.
    • You can make the "full version" STA130 Custom NBLM ChatBot in literally ONE MINUTE like this
    • But now you can ALSO make a custom bots out of any combination of course materials that you wish
    • and NBLM will make it into a podcast for you that you can listen to [Shoutout Chris/Kris]
      • I score this "podcast" 90/100 since it doesn't discuss the do's and do not's, is a little loose with terminology in a couple places, and doesn't discuss the orienting front matter or explain this simulation code directly; but, come on, 90/100? Let's Goo.
      • Just make sure you attend TUT so you can get a solid explanation about the synthetic simulations and the do's and do not's that make up the full p-value discussion: AKA make sure you look at material that gets turned into a podcast because the "podcast" might not cover ALL the topics discussed in the source material.

Because NotebookLM is an experimental google project there's unfortunately not currently an immediately obvious way for us to automate directly sharing a link to the STA130 Custom NBLM ChatBot this at the scale of the STA130 course size.

Given this state of affairs, we encourage you to make arrangements to create and share custom notebooks with your fiends and classmates to kindly help us lower the barrier of entry to this potential STA130 resource.
