Amazon Instant Video on Fedora 17

There's a trick to making this work, of course. But it does work. Too bad the same can't be said for Netflix. Amazon doesn't advertise that its Video services work on Linux. They certainly don't say how to get it working on Fedora. Most likely that's because they want the freedom to make it incompatible with Linux if they (or their entertainment industry partners) feel the need. They also probably don't want to support yet another O/S. That's understandable. Mark LaDoux's Amazon Instant Video on Fedora Core 18 basically gives you everything you need to help Amazon stream to a real operating system. That's all there is to it. It would be nice if this info were posted some where on Amazon's site where people could find it. But I guess that's too much to ask. Postscript: Given the above config on the system Hulu Plus does work, and is worth it. Props to both Hulu and Amazon (or some who work there) for recognizing the importance of cross platform compatibility -- for now.
