Comparative technologies

Although I usually use the term "Humanities" to describe my major in college, it was actually "Comparative History, Ideas and Culture". The idea was that our studies would involve us in comparing and contrasting different societies as a way of understanding the whole of human civilization better. Well, I've finally found something that shows this can be applied to the study of technology as well.
