Channeling Scotty

All I could thing was,

“Cap’n, she canna take no more: she’s gonna blow!”

It’s not that I’ve never seen high CPU utilization before. Really.

But 164 percent? That’s pretty rare. Here’s the screenshot to prove it:

The app in use was Gnome’s soundconverter. The task was converting 3 m4a files to mp3 format so I can play them on the old Palm Zire.

Maybe it’s time to start looking for a reasonably priced quad-core machine that will take 8 Gb RAM.
