64-bit Real Player on Ubuntu

Yes, it’s finally here (these are nightly builds, still considered “experimental”).

Requires compatibility libraries to run, specifically libstdc++5. For Ubuntu do an apt-get install libstdc++5 (for more, see this post on the forum). Screenshot follows:

Preliminary testing results: The plugin still fails the BBC and C-SPAN “acid tests” (you know, actually being able to access content), but I’ll be watching this closely to see how things develop. The moral of this story is, don’t give up that alternate 32-bit Firefox install yet! Mine still lives in /opt/firefox32 and is configured as a custom browser for everyday use.
