Resuming open source, with a beverage

For over a year now I’ve been deeply immersed in learning and managing Oracle’s middleware products, particularly those associated with identity management. That hasn’t left much time for working on various open source projects I’ve wanted to pursue. With the project I’m working on entering a new phase, I’m going to try to spend just a little more time on open source, particularly in identity management. Working with OpenLDAP in a heterogeneous environment is one. Another is taking a closer look at FreeIPA and other such systems, and how the latter might integrate with the former. At the same time, there’s the little matter of actually buckling down and learning Java, after all, since that language figures so prominently in what I’ll be doing at work.

Should be an interesting quarter.
