Fedora 8 in November? Or will it be Ubuntu?

The Fedora Project Release Schedule has version 8 delivering on November 8 of this year. After having sat out the Fedora 7 release due to an uncorrected bug in the initial distribution (the infamous Dell dual core CPU issue, which got corrected a couple of kernel revs after release). I’m still annoyed at the FP for not issuing a fixed respin on their own (I’m not going to build my own respin for a major version that is current for less than a year). That issue moved me extremely close to ditching Fedora/Red Hat for Ubuntu, which I didn’t do mostly out of laziness (who needs to waste time learning a whole new package system and services infrastructure?).

When F8 comes out I’ll give it a try, then we’ll see.
