It turns out that the key to getting the new WordPress install to use the original database for Eldapo was to simply change the permalink format to the default numeric index (I had originally had it using the /yyyy/mm/name-of-post format familiar to Blogger users). This is a real relief. I had begun the aggravating process of reformatting the text in a second import of my Blogger posts this weekend, making for a significantly sleep deprived night or two off.
