Daikin Altherma with power control - plan-d-io/SGR-dongle GitHub Wiki
In the advise on
mode, Daikin Altherma 3 heat pumps allow the power consumption of the device to be dynamically controlled. The heat pump has a pulse counter input which can be connected to an energy meter measuring the power injection of the home. The idea is that the heat pump limits its power draw to the amount of excess PV generation injected into the grid.
The SGR dongle has an option to emulate this injection meter. By default, if a P1 dongle is present, the SGR dongle will output pulses proportionally to the power injection measured by the P1 dongle, mimicking the behaviour described above. The user can however also override this with a dynamic power setpoint of their own.
Warning: dynamically controlling the power consumption might lead to a lower COP.
