Mobs - pexulsreal/glowrootissues GitHub Wiki

As of 1.0.8.3, there are 4 main new mobs that are added within the mod. There are also some extra un-used mobs through /give, which may either be added to this list in the future, or will be deleted in upcoming versions.

Glowroot Golem

The Glowroot Golem is a new neutral-type mob that can only be found within the Glowroot Caves. The Glowroot Golem, unlike other Minecraft vanilla-golems, cannot be pre-built. The reason it's called a Golem is due to the fact it is made mostly out of stone, which derives from the word's actual definition. The Glowroot Golem spawns relatively rarely throughout the caves, but is more common than the other mobs that are added.

Glowroot Golems naturally have a health of 80, drop 8 xp, and walk around very slowly. They do 10 damage, and have natural knockback, and knockback resistance. Glowroot Golems can be tamed with Glowroot Leaves, or Glowroot Petals.

Glowroot Golems, until tamed, are neutral mobs. This is similar to wolves, where it will be passive until you hit it, making it hostile.

The main purpose to tame a Glowroot Golem is to be able to ride it. A saddle is not required to ride a Glowroot Golem. While riding, the golem has a few interesting mechanics:

One main mechanic is to utilize a drill head. Equipping a Golem with a drill head, (right clicking on the Golem while not riding,) will change the model to contain one aswell. In doing so, clicking R, (or whatever bind you set the Activation Glowroot key bind to,) will activate the drill. Clicking R again will de-activate.

When the drill for the golem is activated, wherever you move the golem's head, (by moving your cursor around,) will break the blocks it faces. It mines usually around 2-3 blocks ahead of the direction its facing. Do note that this means you can't get every block, as the golem is unable to look directly up or down. The drill has a limit of 5000 blocks, so after such, it will break, and you will have to replace it.

When right clicking with Chrysoprase dust, the Glowroot Golem will receive a temporary speed boost. Rather than just giving it the speed potion effect, it will have it's speed attribute naturally increased, and will slowly decrease down back to normal, rather than being constant. The golem's attack damage and knockback are also increased. Glowroot Golems with drill-heads will also have increased mining range.

Glowroot Quadcopter

Glowroot Quadcopters are a new hostile mob found only within the Glowroot Caves. It spawns rarely, and can be difficult to come across when wandering in a cave. It's the only mob included in the mod that can fly. Its entirely hostile, and can not be tamed.

Glowroot Quadcopters naturally have a health of (), drop ()xp, and fly around very slowly, atleast when not having a target.

When you get into a nearby 12 block radius of a Glowroot Quadcopter, it will target onto you. It will fly over towards you, and be displaced on top of you by a varying distance, (meaning it will float above from where your standing.) It will continue to follow you, even if you move. On random tick, it will slowly start to charge-up, and after 50 ticks, release a Glowbang projectile downwards, aiming towards the player. It will take a short amount of time after releasing the Glowbang for the ability to be re-used again.
