Within the Glowroot Caves, there are tons of new plant-life blocks and flowers that spawn naturally. The main attraction is Glowroot Vines, a new block that hangs from the ceiling.

These new vines can be used purely for decoration, or to craft a new block, called Pure Glowroot, (.)

Besides the vines, there are 10 new flowers, 2 new grass/tall grass blocks, and a new mushroom.

Node-Power

Every flora-type block, (including everything that was mentioned above,) while being great decoration blocks or ways to light up areas, have a second use. Using a Glowroot Node, (,) you may convert all of the flora into Chrysoprase Crystals, (.) By right clicking with any flora-type block onto a Glowroot Node, it will add a certain amount of "node-power," (shift right-click to see the power amount.) Each flora block can vary in the amount of node-power it applies to a Glowroot Node, from levels 1-3. The sound produced by right clicking on the node will increase in volume depending on the node-power of the flora block. A list of the flora's node power can be seen below:

  • 1. Node Power of one: Glowroot Vines, Glowroot Grass, Glowroot Tall Grass, Glowroot Fern, Glowroot Astilbes, Glowroot Petals, Glowroot Poppy.
  • 2. Node Power of two: Glowroot Daisy, Glowroot Cattails, Glowroot Rose, Glowshrooms, Glowroot Dandelions, Glowroot Paeonia, Glowroot Allium.
  • 3. Node Power of three: Glowroot Flower, Glowroot Bulb, Glowroot Leaves.

Once a node reaches a node-power level of 15, it will automatically deplete the amount back to 0, (or more, considering the amount of node-power inputted,) and output 1 Chrysoprase Crystal as previously mentioned, along with outputting 1 xp orb.

Each flower/flora block have different generational values. Some flowers and floral blocks generate much more often than others, highly dependent on their node-power. Blocks with less node power generate more commonly than those with higher node-power.

Every flora block emits light, but those with higher node-power usually tend to emit more light.

The Glowroot Bulb can be used to also craft Glowroot Alarms (.) Glowshrooms can be crafted into their full-block variants by putting 9 in a crafting table. The full Glowshroom blocks can be used to create Unpure Glowroot Stone for mod progression (.) , or to create Growth filled emitter flasks, (.)
