Dazzling is one of the new custom effects added within the mod. Based on the concept art from the 2020 Minecraft glow squid mob vote, and how originally, glow squids could supposedly "hypnotize" players/mobs, this effect intends to reinterpret that idea.

When getting the Dazzling effect, your screen will appear with a large aquamarine colored overlay, that as the effect ticks down to 0, will slowly fade out. Once it reaches 0, and the effect ends, the overlay will disappear.

This new effect can be obtained in a variety of ways, ranging from just looking at glow squids, (a new vanilla-changing feature,) or throwing/using any of the Glowroot items, such as Glowbangs or Prisms.

For those who think it can be too hurtful for their eyes, you can change the effect's intensity with the /gamerule dazzledopacity. Higher values make the overlay more transparent.

Regular mobs/entities, instead of just having the dazzling overlay as a player would, also have their entire AI temporarily disabled until the effect ends. Some mobs can prevent being affected by dazzling under the glowroot:cantbedazzled tag.
