Nearby Driving
- Pappasito's Cantina - If you want good texmex, this is the place to go. Portions are large. Try the queso!
- Black Bear Diner - Has a cult following. Try the bacon
- Pappa's Seafood - Anything Pappas is usually good.
- Saltgrass Steak House - Somewhat of a steakhouse chain but not bad.
- Hickory Hollow - Decent local BBQ
- Toasted Yolk - Good breakfast fare
- First Watch - Another breakfast/diner restaurant.
- Lenny's Grill and Subs - This is a favorite sub-shop destination. Great bread, great ingredients.
- Waffle House - Short order diner
- Denny's Diner
Willowbrook
Down the beltway, there's another Mall area with a little more liveliness.
- Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen - Next to Pappasitos, this is a good pappa's choice. There is a lot of Cajun in the menu.
- Kirin Japanese Seafood & Sushi Buffet - I've done the sushi buffet here before it's pretty good!
- Dimassi's Mediterraniean - Good middle eastern food.
- Perry's Steakhouse - 4 star steak house. They take reservations
- Chuy's Mexican - Great Texmex. Make sure you try the "Crack Sauce" with your chips.

- Carraba's Italian - Good Italian food
- Bluewater Seafood - Champions
- Fuddruckers Burgers - Great burgers with wedge fries.
- Freebirds World Burrito - Top-notch burritos MUCH better than Chipolte. Say hi to lady liberty!
- Spring Creek BBQ - Good local BBQ
- Cairrage House Cafe - Good Chicken fried Batter. "Has Charm"
The Woodlands
This is a little bit of a drive but has some really nice restaurants and hangout areas.
- Grimaldi's Pizza - Great sit down pizza with big chunks of mozzarella
- Macaroni Grill
- Landrys Seafood - Good outdoor seating along the river walk
- Freebirds World Burrito - Top-notch burritos MUCH better than Chipolte. Say hi to lady liberty!
- Ghengis Grill - Choose your ingredients and they cook them.
- Taqueria Arandas - Good local Taqueria experience. They're open late
- El Tiempo - Good local texmex.
- Rudy's Country Store BBQ - Not far. Half way to the Woodlands
Unique and worth the drive
These recommendations are a little bit of a journey but come highly recommended by local Houstonians.
- Sambuca - Has a dance floor and can be noisy at night. Awesome food
- Darband Shishkabob - Great food. Fast. They make the flat bread fresh seconds before it is served to you.
- Rice Village - This place has many local restaurants and bars. It's a great place to explore, eat, and hang out. Try out:

- Pinkerton BBQ - Hard to get parking, often a line. Little seating. They also run out of food before closing more often than they should
- Goodson's Cafe - Not far over in Tomball. It's all about the Chicken Fried Steak!
- Hobbit Cafe - Quirky and Nerdy
- Mucky Duck - Food and Music
- Kenny and Ziggy's - Authentic New York Deli
- Goode Company BBQ
- Niko Nikos - Voted best Greek food in Houston
- Sushi Sakura - Revolving sushi bar

- Dean's - Part of a row of bars downtown
- El Club No Minors - Beware the blue Margaritas and roving mariachis
- Little Woodrows - Outdoor bar
- Karbach Brewing Co. - German-style brewery with gastropub fare
- Saint Arnold Brewing Company - Craft brewery and pub grub
- Axelrad Beer Garden - Outdoor setup with hammocks and food trucks
