Q: Where can can I collaborate and share information with conference attendees?

A: This is a community event. While the schedule is set for talks throughout the day, often the ad-hoc meetings and collaborations during the conference prove to be the most valuable. We provide a wiki for attendees to collaborate and share information during the event.

Q: How can I communicate with other attendees around the event?

A: In the past few years, we have invited attendees to join our TPF slack channel. Check your inbox (or spam) for an invite. Or contact us with an email address you'd like to get an invite.

Q: What's a Lightning Talk & how to register?

A: Lighting talks are a great way to talk about something too short to cover in a formal talk. We have openings for more talks. Find out more about it here: Submit your Lightning Talk

Q: Will food be served during the conference?

A: We plan to provide a light breakfast and lunch. Some may choose to join us for that or venture outside the hotel and come back. In addition, we will serve a dinner on Thursday (view Thursday Night).

Q: What's going on Tuesday night (Arrival)

A: Arrival Dinners are going on Tuesday night. These are planned by attendees at nearby restaurants. The most popular get togethers are usually the Arrival Dinner and Alt Arrival Dinner found on the wiki. Please sign up now so we can plan for head count!

Q: What's going on Wednesday night?

A: Following Lightning talks in the afternoon will be a VIP mixer held in the foyer. Drinks will be served. After this, we encourage attendees to go out to nearby restaurants in small groups and get to know their peers. Come back to the hotel and hang out and chat!

Q: What's happening Thursday night?

A: Thursday is the conference dinner and Game night. We will be hosting a conference dinner at the hotel. Following dinner, we will be holding a card or board game night in the conference area. Be sure to bring your favorite games to the event! Thursday is also the Bad Movie Night. Location & movie to be announced.

Q: What's game night?

A: Many attendees have enjoyed getting together and playing card or board games to better get to know one another. We'll provide the space. You bring your favorite game. Check the wiki for what others are bringing

Q: Will there be a Bad movie night?

A: Bad movie night is another tradition of TPRC Going back over a decade. This has been historically run by DHA and Dr. Forr. Both men are no longer with us. We plan to remember them fondly and share a few movies late Thursday night. More information will be forthcoming on the wiki.

Q: Where can I get more information?

A: More information can be found in our previous newsletters at https://news.perlfoundation.org/post/tprc-newsletter-2022-06-02

Q: Will there be any remote options for the conference?

A: The only remote option is to view videos after they are published on https://youtube.com/yapcna. You need to attend to make the hallway track!
