Marcel van Kervinck [1] Marcel van Kervinck, (March 27, 1972 – May 25, 2020 [2])

was a Dutch software engineer and metrology. Marcel was author of the chess programs Rookie [3], MSCP (Marcel’s Simple Chess Program) [4], and the UCI engine Floyd for study purposes [5], author of the online opening database Bookie [6], and co-author of the Gigatron retro-style 8-bit microcomputer [7] [8]. From December 2012 until November 2014, he was a member of the board of the CSVN. Marcel van Kervinck passed away on May 25, 2020 [9].
