Module: Loot Additions - pearuhdox/Cartographer GitHub Wiki
Loot Additions is a module provided in Cartographer. It allows for more unique methods of distributing loot than conventional chests and GUI containers.
Setup
To begin working with Loot Additions, the command:
/trigger give_dev_box
will give you all the dev supplies of Loot Additions (as well as any other packs you have installed with dev supplies).
The supply chest contains barrels of player heads with custom drops while this pack is enabled, as well as loot placeables that allow you to place loot in world rather than chests. It also contains a D.I.E.S frame that you can use to place items in world thematically.
Custom Player Heads
The first feature of Loot Additions is Custom Player Heads. These drop different unique items based on the head broken. All custom player head drops are seeded depending on their position in the world. This means a player head placed in the same location will always drop the same items. This means that when a player breaks a head in your map, it will always drop the same supplies for all players. There are different types of player heads:
Player Heads placed on the ground will break far faster with this pack installed.
Player Heads also use internal scaling for multiplayer and for custom values. The mapmaker can set the $scale player's ca.loot_multiplier score to influence the amount of rolls from heads, and that scale will be multiplied by the number of players (so 2 players means double the drops, 3 is triple, and so on.)
Loot Additions sets scale to a default of 2. The values below will be based on a scale of 1 (so default settings is to double the numbers on the wiki.)

Loot Caches
Placing a chest or hopper with items in it (pick blocked in creative with nbt data) into a D.I.E.S frame will instead create a loot cache head that when punched drops all items that were in the placed container.
Loot Altar
Places a small structure with 1 D.I.E.S frame on it. Once the frame is filled, the altar activates. While there are nearby hostile mobs, the item will not be able to be taken from the pedestal. When there are no hostile mobs, the item can be claimed. The altar can be destroyed in Creative by punching the item out of the frame.
Additionally, the Altar will passively buff nearby hostile mobs with Resistance III.
Loot Multichoice Pedestal
Places a small structure with up to 4 D.I.E.S frames, one on each side. An item can be placed in each of these (and removed in Creative mode as usual). Unlike normal Loot Placeables, when a survival mode player takes one of these items on the pedestal, all other items will be deleted (and the pedestal will vanish).
You can punch out any of the frames on sides that you are not using (to provide pedestals with less than 4 choices).
Pushing the button will activate the pedestal, then punching out any frame in Creative will destroy it. In survival, taking any item destroys the other connected ones.
Soul Chest
Places on top of a chest to turn it into a Soul Chest. The chest requires mob kills equal to the item slots occupied in the chest, after which it becomes unlocked and opens. Until then, the chest is locked and cannot be interacted with or broken.
Locked Chest
Places on top of a chest to lock it. It then takes a block to texture the lock, and a key input (both are given by right clicking). That chest then can only be opened with that specific key (nbt must match). The key is consumed on right clicking to unlock the chest. Until the chest is unlocked, it cannot be interacted with or broken.
