Who is behind the biostatistics wiki?

The biostatistics wiki is an initiative of the former Statistics Helpdesk of the Clinical Research Unit at AMC. The wiki is currently hosted and moderated by the EDS department of Amsterdam UMC. Our goal is to promote the quality of the methodology, analysis and reporting of current and future (medical) scientific research at Amsterdam UMC. We do this mainly through personal advice (see our intranet page). In addition, we develop various 'tools' for common topics so that researchers can, where possible, get started themselves. More information about EDS can be found on this website.

What is the biostatistics wiki intended for?

The biostatistics wiki tries to give medical researchers accessible guidance in biostatistics. The wiki is a kind of roadmap for finding the appropriate analysis method, and it answers questions that many researchers get stuck on. In addition, the wiki links to many useful websites where more accessible explanations of biostatistics can be found. This way, medical researchers can make easier and more appropriate use of the statistical methods available. See our disclaimer for information about what the wiki is not intended for.

How are the texts on the wiki created?

The biostatistics wiki, like Wikipedia, is written collaboratively. Anyone who wants to can contribute to the texts. For security reasons, a login account is required for this (available via [email protected]). For major contributions, we list the authors' names with the article, so that external readers can assess the reliability of the information. See the page on authorship for how this works.

I see an error or an omission, what now?
