Unlike BrowserQuest, ParticleQuest aims to tell a fairly linear story driven by dungeons and quests. In this page you can read some of the ideas and guidelines we are following as directions for achieving our goal.

## Story Summary You're a dedicated scientist working on finding the Higgs Boson. It's tough, not an easy problem. before you arrive at the accelerator to run the final big experiment._

the final level involves running an experiment where you must have collected the necessary "key objects" before being allowed to attempt the level.

You are a CERN summer student. This year, you have been selected as one of the few who are being transported into the LHC at the 8 collision points. You can explore the open world which is above-ground and follows the course of the LHC ring around Switzerland, France etc.

## Dungeons The collider has 8 collision points. One way of splitting up the dungeons would be to have each point as a dungeon, and you have to deal with the particles that initiate the collision The collider ring is basically the main area where you move around between dungeons. The individual dungeons are opened by specific actions, that don't have to be the same for every dungeon Bonus dungeon for multiplayer / common room to gather co-players for multiplayer dungeons

  • Hardware dungeon
  • Final dungeon

So, technically, each zone/areas has

  • a set of key objects
  • one or more puzzles
  • a "big boss" (?)

Ideas for Zones/Levels (under development!)

  • software (objects: ones and zeroes, ...?)
  • hardware (objects: pieces of pipe, ...?)
  • public support (objects: money, political endorsements)
  • experiment (objects: no new ones)
