Preamble.

The Institute of Biomedical Informatics (IBMI) at Moi University has taken the initiative for setting up the initial version of the metadata server in the cloud with the specifications of 1CPU/50GB/2GB RAM for the cloud server. This is the least costly cloud option. The Kenya metadata server & national terminology services working group expresses its sincere gratitude to the IBMI for its generosity in financial and infrastructure support. However there is an urgent need for the expansion of the infrastructure for the efficient operation of the metadata server

Working group scope of work.

A. Granting access to implementation partners to the metadata server without authentication.

B. Expansion of the metadata server infrastructure.

Technical description.

The current infrastructure specifications of the Kenya metadata Server & terminology Service is 1CPU/50GB/2GB RAM. The working group technical team is seeking to improve this infrastructure.

Accessibility.

The working group is proposing the following ways for implementation partners’ access to the metadata server instance without authentication:

A. Allowing concept search on the metadata server.

I. This entails searching the metadata server against both concepts and or their synonyms. The metadata infrastructure should be able to seamlessly support these operations.

B. Allowing the most current concept dictionary download. This for instance can be achieved through a CSV file.

Performance.
