Notes

  • Discuss changes in PRRTE for dynamic host/allocation support

    • new add-host capabilities for prrte (backend) for the PMIx_Spawn with an "add host" list
    • Functionality added and working on command-line syntax, etc.
    • Scheduler module for use with PMIX allocation requests
    • Work relates to some capabilities of interest for Samsung
    • General things like supporting add/del slots from DVM

  • Bug fixes to come out in prrte-v3.0.1 release

  • Released openpmix-4.2.4

  • Plan a openpmix-4.2.5

    • Made aware there is a backward compat issue coming with future hwloc v3.0 release
    • Not exactly sure how big this breakage would be, so for now added configure check to say not support v3.0 for now. This will protect things in the future.
    • This way things will fail configure if hit unsupported hwloc v3.
    • Unfortunately, openpmix-4.2.4 will have possible failure cases if hit an hwloc v3 in future, but nothing can be done and just have folks using openpmix-4.2.5.

  • Shared memory module in openpmix seem to be good, no problems raised so far. If continue to be all good, will enable on the openpmix-5.0.0 release.

  • Things looking good on openpmix side

  • Plan to delay prrte-4.0.0 until have more of the scheduler work added, it too will need the hwloc-v3 checks. If timing is ok, will do more than configury checks and instead add some #ifdefs to ensure all ok. But have to wait for hwloc-v3 release to iron out those details.
