Attendees:

Minutes:

  • Release 1.1.4 rc out for testing contains all commits except for shared memory and API definition changes (event notification).
  • Question on compatibility: is 1.1.4 backwards compatible? A: Yes. PMIx server 1.1.4 will support 1.1.x clients
  • David reported that PMIx was received very positively at the European conference. There was a lot of interest and a few questions on providing power management interface in PMIx and flex allocation.
  • Adoption of PMIx by the debugger group is in progress.
  • Josh to make changes in OpenMPI PMIx external component to support 1.1.4 release. Ralph mentioned the changes are trivial, so ifdefs should be sufficient for now.
  • Mellanox to test with 1.1.4 after reverting the symbol visibility issue which is requiring the SLURM plugin to be recompiled.
  • The team agreed to pull required changes into the release branch more frequently to avoid cherry picking commits from a big list at the time of release. Reminder to use BKM for commits - push frequent commits instead of a big push with multiple commits to avoid conflicts with ongoing development of others.
