GitHub Issues and Pull Requests
- Mitch Vars (MV) gave an overview of GitHub Issues and Pull requests and how they are used in the specification development process
GitHub Issue #145; Data Structure challenge.
-
Rick Neubauer (RN) from UMOJO described the issue in more detail. Spacial Data coming from IPS uses a 4 level hierarchy whereas CDS use 3 levels. CDS also includes some additional rules for how Areas are defined.
-
Jacob Malleau (JM) of CurbIQ described how CDS allows Areas to overlap which in theory would allow you to create a 4 lever hierarchy.
-
RN described the challenge of converting between the two but agreed that a change to the specification was not needed at this point.
-
KW Described system used by SFMTA. He did not see a need for a 4 lever hierarchy
-
James Barr (JB) of Turnstone suggested that IPS should be the one to adapt their data
-
Matt Davis (MD) of Populus agreed that this did not warrant a change and that additional layers could be used to contain these data.
-
Andrew Glass-Hasting (AGH) suggested requiring data in CDS from vendors to avoid these challenges.
GitHub Issue #146 Additional Fields for Computer Vision
-
RN described the need for additional fields to contain data related to computer vision like Vehicle Colors, License Plates, Camera Locations, Confidence Levels etc.
-
RN has attached PDF to the Issues with a detailed description of what he is proposing.
-
RN would like a limited set of predefined vehicle colors to avoid confusion when colors like "cinnamon mocha" come up.
-
RN agreed to create a PR based on what's in the PDF to move the proposal forward.
-
Michael Schnuerle (MS) asked that the PR be limited to items directly related to the computer vision issue and that other items be part of separate PRs
GitHub Issue #148 Standardized Naming Shemas for Zones
-
RN proposed a schema for creating zone names in the name filed in the Curbs API based on characteristics of the zone using the format STREET_BLOCK_DIRECTION_TYPE(s) where TYPE described the kind of zone in question, for example CLVZ for Commercial Vehicle Loading Zone.
-
RN also brought up the issues of defining curb colors used to display curb regs and how there's no consistency between vendors.
-
MV said that because of how the name field is defined any string value is acceptable so using this or any naming schema is currently allowed.
-
MV noted that he had opened a PR to a description field in addition to name but it may not be necessary
-
MS asked if a unique identifier field that's not a UUID could help in
-
MV and RN agreed that the description field was not necessary and that the PR would be closed.
-
RN will pursue the unique identifier issue
GitHub Issue #149 - Double parking events
-
RN suggests adding a Double Parking event type. Currently there's a PR (#164) that adds a double_parking event. RN described the need for separate start and stop events so that PR won't suffice.
-
JM suggested it would be best if there were separate event types for double_park_start and double_park_end.
-
MS said that could be linked by session ID. This would allow calculation of duration and connect it to a purpose, for example delivery, police etc
-
RN will open a PR, which will also add a center lane type. ...
