You'll nees 3 Steps:
1. Extracting the videos: 1st Option: Connect the TV HDD on Linux (Live-CD, VM, HDD etc.): a. Open "00000001REC" folder. b. The videos are the files finishing with "STR". Is you choice to copy all files or just the "STR" files. Depending of the amount of files, it is more worthwhile to copy all. You need root access to copy the files.
2nd Option: Using Nucleus Kernel JFS on Windows: a. Select the "Storage Device" at left menu. b. Check the "Use Partition Table" option and click the "Next" button. c. Select the "JFS - 0" at left menu and click the "Next" button. d. A window will open, check "Normal Search" option and click "Ok' button (wait about 5 seconds). e. Select "00000001REC" folder at left menu. f. The videos are the files finishing with "STR". Is you choice to "recover" all files or just the "STR" files. Depending of the amount of files, it is more worthwhile to recover all.
- Sometimes NKJFS don't find the partitions, just reinstall NKJFS and try again
2. Fixing the videos using TS Doctor: a. Open TS Doctor, go to "File" menu and open the STR file without change the extension. b. Wait TS Doctor cheks the file, TS Doctor must find 2 tracks: H264 Video and AAC Audio English. c. If TS Doctor detects more than one audio track (E-AC3 German for example), click on Tools icon on invalid track and uncheck "Stream Enabled". If you wish, change the language of the correct AAC track. d. Click on "Save new File" button and choose a new name for the file
3. Playing the videos a. Use VLC Player or TotalMedia
- On videos with more than one audio tracks, Totalmedia detects automatically the correct track, on VLC player the track must be selected manually or you can select manually the track order on TS Doctor changing the AAC to first position.
I coudn't manage yet how to play the videos with sound on other players without demuxing/converting/remuxing :(.
