Process for interop spec

  • Updated tests are here
  • (Thomas) There are now CAEP Interop Specific Testplans:
  • OpenID Shared Signals Framework 1.0 Final/CAEP Interop Profile: Transmitter test
  • OpenID Shared Signals Framework 1.0 Final/CAEP Interop Profile: Receiver test
  • Once we have two implementations each successfully using the receiver and transmitter tests, we can propose the interop draft for becoming final
  • (Jen) We need to submit that soon since the process is long
  • (Jen) Could we get someone to review the updated draft?
  • (Atul) Provide any feedback in GitHub issues
  • (Jen) Typos may be proposed as a PR
  • (Atul) Are there incentives for people to test early?
    • (Thomas) Normally we don't give any incentive because implementers are very motivated to test
    • (Thomas) I'll check with Joseph nonetheless

Action Receipts

  • (Vatsal) Is the idea that the signal was received and understood? Or is it that it was received and an action was taken
    • (Sean) It is both. Just understanding the event can be conveyed with an acknowledgement
  • (Vatsal) In previous situations we didn't want it to be a part of SSF
    • (Sean) That's why it's a separate extension and not a part of the baseline.
  • (Yair) There is a benefit to this being its own spec, because others don't need to worry about it if they don't care about it.
  • (Apoorva) How would the specific process for this, because SETs themselves don't talk about acknowledgements, so how are we going to fix that?
  • (Atul) Can you point to a section in the SET spec? (to be done offline)
  • (Apoorva) via chat "...SET recipients will often take actions upon receivng SETs....may interepret for their own purposes." (so, no restriction).

Action Items

  • Jen to review the updated draft next week
  • Atul to reach out to potential users of certification
