Retired Use Cases - opengeospatial/boreholeie GitHub Wiki
This page lists the use cases that were retired from the Borehole IE after a scoping exercise.
www.ga.gov.au/nopims)
9/ Delivery of petroleum well header data and downhole log data from Geoscience Australia and the Australian National Offshore Petroleum Information System (Who : Ollie (GA), Jean-François (Energistics)
- Compare NOPIMS and GA data models to Energistics and EPOS models to identify issues of any missing elements or modelling differences. Suggest amendments to EPOS conceptual model where required.
- Develop database mappings for NOPTA and GA to construct web services of their borehole data using an agreed model developed in the IE.
10/ Historical/non-structured data extraction
Who : Yan Liu (3GS)
Sylvain -> Yan : please refine my words on your use case Context : extract content from reports (ex : pdf). Apply techniques such as natural language processing to extract knowledge and enrich the corresponding borehole(s?) representation in databases.
Requirement towards the IE :
- the IT formalism to describe the Borehole model applied should support the use case (ontologies, thesaurus)
- /!\ the natural language processing exercise itself is out of scope for the IE /!\
15/ Borehole Management
Who: Rainer Haener (GFZ)
Context: Establishing a system that is capable of managing boreholes () on the basis of information from current and historic drilling campaigns
User Stories and Stakeholder Requirements
- Proactive management of drill risks
- Planning of borehole locations
- Web-based and real-time support of operators and scientists
Use Cases
- Determination of best suited locations on the basis of geological/geophysical models
- Analysis of drill risks on the basis of archives of Borehole Logs and Events
- Early detection and prevention of drilling risks based on neural networks, e.g., Stuck pipes or Kicks
Requirements
- The System shall provide an archive of Borehole Logs and Events from completed drilling campaigns
- The System shall provide Borehole Logs and Events in real time as well as in a common and standardised encoding
Test Cases
- Determination of a risk in an artificially created Borehole Log, based on a trained Neural Network
- to be continued
