Nirvana Updater - open-flysky/Flysky-OpenTX-Test-Branch GitHub Wiki

In order to update the Nirvana to the latest Flysky Firmware please download and run the NV14 Updater from the flyksky github https://github.com/open-flysky/NV14-updater/releases select the zip that corresponds with the windows operating system you are running.

Note: If you have models stored or changes to the configuration it’s important that you backup the contents on the SDcard. If not, then go to the next steps and disregard this paragraph.

To backup the SDcard you can either remove the SD card, by removing the lanyard loop and insert it into a computer or connect a usb cable to the port on the top of the Nirvana (while its on). A window will pop up, select storage and a drive will be mapped to the SDcard on your computer.

Unzip and run the NV14-updater.exe and a window will pop up. Windows User account control, might ask you for permission to run the file. Proceed by clicking yes.

Click on the drop down indicated as ---SELECT--- to choose the firmware.

You can either download the firmware and flash it manually or flash it within the updater.

If you are sure that you have your SDcard contents backed up. Select Flash (latest firmware by date) and click on the blue “Download firmware” button. Then click on “Start Update”

At this moment you will see this screen below. The NV14 Updater is now waiting for the Nirvana to be put into DFU mode.

Turn off the Nirvana and plug in the micro usb from the device to the computer.

Next grab a 2.5mm hex and remove the lanyard loop situated on the bottom to gain access to the DFU button; which is located inside the hole on the top. (Be careful not to insert anything into the bottom hole. It will damage the Nirvana)

Insert a small driver or toothpick into the top hole while pressing and holding the two power buttons on the front.

The Nirvana will turn on and enter DFU mode. Nothing on the device screen will come up at this time, please turn to the computer that has the NV14 Updater running to proceed.

The Updater should go through the process of updating the firmware.

Follow the onscreen prompts.

Next we will download and update the SDcard contents.

Go back to the updater and select the “Download SD Card image” and click “Download archive”. You’ll be prompted to save the SD card somewhere. Save it on the desktop or somewhere that is easily accessible. Right click on the file to extract.

Connect the Nirvana to the computer via USB and turn it on. Tap storage to gain access to the SDcard.

For a fresh install of the SDcard delete the contents on the Nirvana, highlight, copy and paste the contents from the unzipped files to the Nirvana

If you have models or sounds that you have previously added feel free to copy those over. If you are coming from a different firmware it might be best to start with new models.

Sidenote: The alternative way to flash is to download the firmware. (Must be on the latest Flysky firmware.) Turn it on while holding both trims moved to the center to see this menu below.

Plug in a USB cable it will map the SDcard drive to a computer.

Go to the Flysky updater and select the latest firmware to download.

Save that file in the SDcard firmware folder.
