Solve Cloudflare hCaptcha reCAPTCHA with MyE2i - oe-mirrors/e2iplayer GitHub Wiki
How to solve hCaptcha / reCAPTCHA / Cloudflare with the MyE2i browser extension
MyE2i is a small browser extension that lets you solve a Cloudflare check, hCaptcha (checkbox and invisible), Cloudflare Turnstile or Google reCAPTCHA (v2, v3, invisible and Enterprise) on another device - your PC, tablet or smartphone - while E2iPlayer waits on the receiver for the result.
- A Chrome-like browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi ...) with the MyE2i extension installed. This can be a browser on your PC, tablet or smartphone.
- The device with the browser and your Set-Top-Box must be in the same local network (same router).
- Do not use a VPN or proxy in that browser: a Cloudflare clearance is only valid for the connection and browser that solved it, and Cloudflare may ask again even while it is still valid.
Download the current version (always the same link, the file is replaced with every new version):
- Unpack the
.zip- you get a folder namedmye2iv3. - Open the extension page of your browser:
chrome://extensions(Edge:edge://extensions). - Switch on Developer mode.
- Click Load unpacked and select the
mye2iv3folder.
To update later: download the new .zip, overwrite the folder and press Reload on the extension page.
If you still have the original MyE2iV3 extension installed, remove it first. The extension in this package has its own ID and does not replace it.
The extension uses Manifest v3 and needs Chrome / Edge / Brave / Opera version 111 or newer (March 2023). Older browsers that only know Manifest v2 are not supported - current Chrome and Edge do not run Manifest v2 extensions any more anyway.
Besides Cloudflare, the extension also handles other browser checks that end in cookies (DDoS-Guard, Sucuri, Imperva, Anubis and similar): E2iPlayer recognises the protection, opens the same page and takes the cookies from your browser. The receiver's debug log names the protection it found (PROTECTION: ...).
A mye2iv3-latest.crx is attached to the same release, signed with a throw-away key (a new extension ID with every build). Chrome and Edge do not install a .crx from outside their store by simply clicking it (only via developer mode or a policy) - the .zip above is the way to go.
Every version is also kept as its own release (mye2i-extension-v<version>, see Releases), if you need an older one.
A Firefox build (mye2iv3-firefox-unsigned.xpi, Firefox 128 or newer) is attached to the same release. It behaves like the Chrome one, but Firefox only keeps add-ons that Mozilla signed:
-
Try it: open
about:debugging, choose This Firefox -> Load Temporary Add-on... and select the.xpi. It disappears when Firefox is restarted. -
Permanent: needs a Mozilla-signed package (not published yet), or Firefox Developer Edition / Nightly / ESR with
xpinstall.signatures.required = false.
The most comfortable way to solve a captcha is on your smartphone. Regular Chrome for Android does not support extensions, but Microsoft Edge Canary does:

- Install Microsoft Edge Canary from the Play Store.
- Tap the version string in Settings -> About 7 or more times to enable the developer options.
- Load the extension in the developer options of Edge Canary.
Tip: the phone's camera opens the QR code in the default browser (usually Chrome), not in Edge Canary. Set Settings -> Captcha configuration -> MyE2i: offer to open the page in (Android) to Microsoft Edge Canary (or the browser you use): the start page then shows a button Open this page in ... that switches to that browser with one tap.
Tip: some sites send phones to their own mobile domain (e.g.
topvids.net->m.topvids.cc). The Cloudflare cookie is then made for that other domain, and the box still gets 403 Forbidden after the captcha was solved. Switch on Desktop site in the Edge menu before solving: the browser stays on the address the box asks for.
- Cloudflare: nothing to configure. When a page is protected by a Cloudflare check that E2iPlayer cannot pass on its own, the MyE2i window opens automatically.
- hCaptcha / reCAPTCHA: open the E2iPlayer configuration, set Default captcha bypass to MyE2i, save with the green button and exit the configuration.
- Try to play / download the video or open the page that is protected.
- A new window appears on the receiver with a QR code and an address, e.g.
http://192.168.0.20:9001, and, if Settings -> Captcha configuration -> MyE2i extension: increase security is on, a six-digit code in the window title. Do not close this window. The yellow key (or INFO/HELP) shows a short guide and a QR code that leads to this page. - On your PC or smartphone open the browser with the MyE2i extension and scan the QR code (nothing to type) or type the address into the address bar (with increase security on, enter the six-digit code from the window title when asked).
- Press the green Get ... job button. The protected site opens in a new tab - solve the Cloudflare check / hCaptcha / reCAPTCHA there. The tab closes itself and E2iPlayer continues on the receiver. With MyE2i: close the start page when done on, the start page from step 3 closes as well.
Keep the page from step 3 open until the captcha is solved - the result is passed back through it.
The captions on the solving page follow the language of your browser (English and German are included).
If the extension is too old, a red banner with a download link appears at the top of that page and a hint is shown on the receiver.
Below the green button there is a small debug button; it folds out a second one, Debug snapshot, with an address field (pre-filled with the page E2iPlayer asked for - you can change it, e.g. to a video page). It opens the address in your real browser, waits until the page is fully rendered (solve a Cloudflare check in that tab if it shows up) and sends the following to the E2iPlayer debug log on the receiver:
| Log section | Content |
|---|---|
meta |
address, title, user agent |
dom |
the fully rendered HTML (what your browser really sees after all JavaScript ran) |
resources |
all loaded addresses, including fetch/XHR calls |
netlog |
every fetch() / XMLHttpRequest: method, address, request body, status and the beginning of the response |
cookies |
cookie names, domain and flags (values shortened) |
Every line starts with [MyE2i-DUMP <section>]. The complete files are also saved on the receiver in <TmpDir>/mye2i_debug/ (TmpDir = the plugin's temporary folder setting). This needs extension version 1.18 or newer and the E2iPlayer debug log to be switched on.
The cookies belong to the page you opened in your browser - look through a log before you share it.
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| The page from the QR code / address does not open | Phone/PC and receiver must be in the same network. Some routers block traffic between Wi-Fi and LAN devices ("client isolation"). |
| "Your MyE2i extension is outdated" banner | Install the current .zip (see step 1). |
| Nothing happens after solving | Make sure the page from step 3 is still open, then try again. |
| The page asks for a code / says "Wrong code" | Enter the six-digit code shown in the title of the receiver's window (or scan the QR code instead). After 10 wrong tries the code is locked for this session - the QR code still works. |
A red "Captcha error: " appears under the captcha
|
The captcha widget itself reported an error (the same line is in the E2iPlayer debug log). Turnstile codes starting with 300/600 mean the check was refused for this browser/connection - try another browser or network without VPN. |
| The video still gets a 403 after the check was solved | The clearance only works for the same network address and browser that solved it. Turn off VPN/proxy in the browser and keep the receiver and the browser in the same network. |
| A Cloudflare check never finishes | Some sites use a Cloudflare variant that leaves no reusable clearance cookie - that is a limit of the site, not of the extension. |

The MyE2i extension and E2iPlayer itself were originally created by SamSamSam. Many thanks to SamSamSam for the original MyE2i extension (up to 1.17) - the current version builds on that work. The original public version from SamSamSam is Closedsource now and only available for acquaintances and family.
