- Custom Settings for NetworkFrame Network Types
As with other data visualization types in the various frames, NetworkFrame will let you send the following strings to networkType: "wordcloud"
, "force"
, "motifs"
. If you want more control over the summary data visualization being rendered, each of these types have additional settings you can adjust based on your use case and which typically expose settings associated with the data transformation method associated with the summary type. To do this, you need to send an object instead of a string, and that object should have a “type” attribute set to the string, so this uses contouring with the default method:
<NetworkFrame
networkType={"motifs"}
/>
...while this sends custom settings to adjust the number of iterations for the d3-force
forceSimulation
function:
<NetworkFrame
networkType={{ type: "motifs", iterations: 1000 }}
/>
Custom Settings by Type
Shared
iterations
: The number of ticks that the simulation will run.
Force-Directed
edgeStrength
: The modifier applied the the value from the edgeWeightAccessor value of the edge. Defaults to0.1
.
Motifs
edgeStrength
: The modifier applied the the value from the edgeWeightAccessor value of the edge. Defaults to0.1
.multi
: Whether this is a multi-graph (multiple edges from the same source to the same target). This is important because component detection relies on whether the graph is a multigraph and I can't automatically detect that so you need to declare it when it is.
Word Cloud
fontSize
: The base font-size of the words. Defaults to18
.fontWeight
: The font-weight of the words. Defaults to300
.rotate
: A function that takes a node and returns a boolean that determines whether or not the word is shown vertically (rotated 90 degrees). By default all words are shown horizontally.
Sankey
orient
: One of["center", "left", "right", "justify"]
determining the base sankey layout. Defaults to"center"
nodePadding
: Pixel padding between nodes. Defaults to8
.nodeWidth
: Pixel width of nodes. Defaults to24
.
