Using Monitor for Camera Parameters - northern-bites/nbites GitHub Wiki

If we need new camera parameters, Aldebaran's "Monitor" tool can be helpful. Download it here. Untar it and cd into the resulting directory. Run:

./monitor

to start up the program.

On the robot, you will need to open ~/naoqi/preferences/autoload.ini and comment out the [user] module named /home/nao/nbites/libmanpreloader.so. This way our own image code doesn't interfere with Monitor's image acquisition.

On the robot, you will also need to update /etc/naoqi/autoload.ini for image streaming to work properly.

Once the robot is running, click on the camera button in Monitor's home screen. It should give you a list of robots. Make sure "Use fixed port" is checked (with value 9559) then select your robot and click "Connect to."

This brings up the camera manipulation tool. Click on the green "play" triangle to start streaming images, which you can manipulate using the controls.
