The Death Jester, Shadowseer, Solitaire, and Troupe Master each got a new rule called "Pivotal Role" in 9e.

They each allow a unit to replace one of their rules with a new one out of 3 choices. We will add that choice as well, after converting the rules to work for Apocalypse

Death Jester

The Death Jester's "Death is Not Enough" rule appears to be modeled as "Terror Troops" in Apocalypse. It can now be replaced with one of the following:

Harvester of Torment Hits vs 6 or more models score 3 hits Hits vs 6 or more models get to reroll wounds While we couldn't find another weapon that cared about number of models, there is nothing preventing a rule like this from working. Might lay the groundwork for adding blast later. However, scoring more hits does not appear to be a thing in Apocalypse - things like Tesla Weapons for Necrons don't even appear to benefit from being tesla, which is strange - a Tesla Carbine has no advantage over a normal Boltgun
The Jest Inescapable Add 12" to Weapon range, mortals on 6s to wound, ignore cover Add 12" to weapon range, ignore obscured penalty Mortals on 6s to wound is not a thing in Apocalypse
Humbling Cruelty Hits reduce movement and turn off overwatch Hits reduce movement No Overwatch in 9e

Shadowseer

The Shadowseer's "Shield From Harm" ability can now be replaced with one of the following:

Agent of Bedlam Enemy units within 6" subtract 1 from their attacks Enemy units within 6" must reroll successful hits # of attacks is so different in Apoc we decided to make up something unique and different for this one, since Shield from Harm already subtracts from wound rolls

Solitaire

The Solitaire's "Blitz" ability appears to be baked into it's Movement and Attack characteristics, and the Solitaire Weapons' SAP and SAT. Seriously, the solitaire statline is absurd. Rather than try to unwind all that, we decided to make the Pivotal Role abilities optional, and to cost an additional 1 PL if chosen
