Illuminor Szeras Datasheet Changes - normanthesquid/wh40k-fundapocalypse GitHub Wiki

Illuminor Szeras got an awesome new model, and his datasheet is pretty different.

To determine what needs to be updated, we compared 9e Szeras to a 9e Technomancer, and 8e Szeras to a 8e Cryptek.

In 8e, Szeras has Master Technomancer instead of Technomancer, and Mechanical Augmentation instead of Chronometron and Canoptek Cloak. He also has 1" better movement, 1 more wound, and 1 better save. This is reflected in Apocalypse by giving him 1" better movement, 1 better save, Mechanical Augmentation, and a version of the Technomancer ability that just leaves off the Dynasty part, which is all Master Technomancer did anyways.

In 9e, Szeras has Empyric Overcharger, Atomic Energy Manipulator, Illuminor, and Mechanical Augmentation. Both Szeras and the Technomancer have the same Rites of Reanimation ability, which is the 9e version of the "Technomancer/Master Technomancer" abilities. He also has an 8" move instead of just 6", 3 more wounds, 1 better save, 2 better strength and toughness, 3 more attacks, and some Impaling Legs. He got all this for basically free - his PL cost is the same in 9e as it was in 8e, while the Technomancer costs 1 more than the Cryptek did. His Apocalypse PL made more sense - he only costs 1 PL more than a Cryptek there.

We decided to add an option to Szeras's datasheet called "Reborn" that modifies his datasheet in the following ways: Set M to 8" (from 6") Set A to 3 (from 1, to account for both his additional attacks, and for his Impaling Legs) Set W to 2 (from 1) Improve the SAT and SAP for "Eldritch Lance (Melee)" by 1 each (to account for his improved S)

Add the Empyric Overcharger ability (see below) Add the Atomic Energy Manipulator ability. It comes over basically unchanged, just tweaked a little to make it fit Apocalypse better.

We decided to ignore the Illuminor ability, since it doesnt work well with the Apocalypse Technomancer ability. We also decided that these upgrades are probably worth 2 PL, so we made the Reborn ability set his PL to 8.

Empyric Overcharger

This is a cool ability, but doesn't translate well to Apoc, since Perils of the Warp are not a thing. We decided to model a new version after Prince Yriel's "The Eye Of Wrath", but keep the Anti-psyker theme:

Empyric Overcharger: After this unit makes a Move action, select one enemy PSYKER unit within 12" of it and roll one D12; on a 9+ place one blast marker next to that unit.
